So I got this bullwhip this weekend, after ordering it on Wednesday. I felt like it took forever to get here anyway. But yeah, I got it for my Sn0wman cosplay...
Let's just say it was the best purchase I've made in a while. Black, 6 foot leather bullwhip; length excluding popper and fall. I have named her Black Inches. Of course. 72, to be precise. And I have had the best time I have ever had doing something that could be considered a sport.
I just used her for the first time yesterday, but I already know 3 cracks! It's just so much fun to learn and when you hear that SNAP... oh man, I gotta do a little dance. It's so cool.
So far I can do:

-Forwards crack
-Overhand crack (cattleman's crack?)
-Overhead crack (I'm the best at this one!)

I learned the first and the last ones today and the middle one yesterday. ♬
I think I'm getting callouses on my hands for the first time in a long while. It hurts a little. Which is a little funny, because the thing I have heard hurts the most for newbies in the bullwhip cracking hobby is the sting of getting smacked! ...
Ok, admittedly, I have a couple little red marks on my legs, and I really SHOULD have one on my left knuckle. But they don't hurt. My right palm is so red though. HAHA ow.

I sound like such a kid right now. Whatever, I don't care, I'm having a lot of fun and I'm in the thralls of being excited about something!

Other update: For FANIMECON this year I will be dressing as Sn0wman...

...and possibly Spades Slick as well.
